Obama’s move to close down the prisons at Guantanamo Bay is promising. For a while, the United States’ assertion on China’s record on human rights, especially during episodes when trade issues arise between the two countries, has been a complete joke. Nevertheless, there indeed is a quandary as to what to do with those remained incarcerated there. Obama’s eventual solution for this would be interesting.
Still, considering that Obama is reasserting the position of the United States as a leader of the supposed free world, I can’t fail to notice that the United States maintains a 100-year old colony called Puerto Rico.
